Jalalu-Kalvert Nelson's highly successful cookcert project has been described as a "musiculinary experience." Three "Music Chefs" perform improvised jazz music while preparing and serving a full three-course meal.

Cooking pots become musical instruments, musicians become chefs, notes are flambéed and sauces are harmonised.

To date, cookcerts have been held in Switzerland, Belgium, France, Germany and Austria. Venues have included the Alte Halle der Kupferschmiede in Langnau, Switzerland, the Cité Universitaire in Neuchâtel, the Parkhotel Schloss Münchenwiler, also in Switzerland and the Brasserie Anna in Ghent, Belgium.
